Craft Junkie Too Summer Challenge

Craft Junkie Too Friend

Hi guys! This card was made for Tracy's (AKA CJTOO) blog, over at www.craftjunkietoo.com. I was stumped for hours as to what I wanted my card to look like. lol I used the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge. "Summer" was cut at 2", the "watermelons" were cut at 3", 1 1/2" and 1". The card (white cardstock) is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2. The "pink" cardstock is cut at 5 1/4 X 4". The yellow "flowers" I had lying around, as well as the yellow brad.. I bought at Michael's some time back on sale. Thanks for looking.. I really appreciate your comments. AND Congratulations to whomever wins this challenge. Happy Crafting! :)

Chess Board Birthday Cake

Hi guys! My husband's birthday was on Monday (May 24th), so I decided to make him a chess board cake.. since he is the Chess Instructor at our local Junior High & High School. This was my FIRST time working with fondant.. and let me tell you, it's a mess to make and hard to work with! The chess pieces came from a chocolate mold I ordered online. (This was the easy part! lol) I researched ALOT of websites & finally came to the conclusion that marshallow fondant was the easiest & cheapest to make!

I DO NOT like the way the white fondant came out ON the cake. But it being my FIRST time using it.. I guess it's not THAT bad, right!? HAHA I shouldn't have rolled out the fondant so thin! But oh well.. now I know for next time!
